No, it’s not another modern day “docusoap”, it’s Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s hilarious 18th century masterpiece - The Rivals. Written in 1775 by the Irish playwright, Richard Sheridan’s first and most famous play is about to have an outing across the UK. Packed full of the most extraordinary comic characters ever to grace the stage; Mrs Malaprop with her famous twisted phrases, her niece Lydia Languish busy falling in love with the handsome Jack Absolute, who himself is being pushed around by his explosive father Sir Anthony Absolute. After several misinterpreted love letters, cross - conversations and an organised street fight, the day ends with each suitor happily paired off and country bumpkin, Bob Acres, throwing a big party for them all! This important classic piece of British theatre will be revived by the acclaimed ensemble theatre company Creative Cow.
