The Pirates are
coming...
|
A
fantastic piece of theatre! A real romp involving much swashbuckling on
the high seas, led by Bess Bridges, landlady of the Windmill pub in
Fowey.
Donning doublet and hose, this courageous Cornish lass turns to piracy, and sets off on a mission to find her lover who has been
captured off the coast of Spain.
Written by Thomas Heywood in 1599, every time it is performed this epic yarn proves that Shakespeare wasn't the only Elizabethan
playwright who came up with colourful characters, great
comedy and a cracking story. |
